Descriptions of Current Classes:

Puppy Kindergarten with Abby Hill, CPDT-KA

A class for puppies under 5 months of age at the start of the class. There is a socialization period at every class where the puppies get to play together then we move on the obedience and learn sit, down, stay, walking on the leash, leave it, stand and finish heel. We also cover housebreaking, jumping, nipping,etc.

Elementary School with Abby Hill, CPDT

A basic class where we learn sit, down, stay, walking on the leash, stand, leave it and finish heel.

Middle School with Abby Hill, CPDT

For dogs that have completed Elementary School or Puppy Kindergarten. We focus on perfecting the basic commands and starting to learn some more advanced commands such as formal heeling and moving downs.

High School with Abby Hill, CPDT

A class for dogs that are showing or preparing to show. Also acccepted are dogs that have completed the Middle School class.

Puppy Development Course with Bruce Caplin, CPDT, JD

Join Bruce Caplin of The 10-Minute Dog for this very important early puppy development class focusing on socialization, bite inhibition, understanding canine body language and basic training. Bruce trained under the tutelage of renowned behaviorist Dr. Ian Dunbar and will be following his SIRIUS puppy training protocols during this course:

SIRIUS® PUPPY Part 1 - For puppies between 10 and 18 weeks . These puppy classes specifically focus on teaching bite inhibition (gentle jaws), socialization with other dogs and people (especially children, men and strangers), calming and handling, attention, off-leash household manners/obedience and the prevention of behavior and temperament problems. Special emphasis is paid to phasing out the need for food lures and rewards for reliable verbal and hand signal, off-leash control (around the home or on walks), yet promoting the continued use of food treats for classical conditioning - to teach dogs to thoroughly enjoy the company of people and other dogs.

This puppy course will be limited to 12 dogs and will be held in our main building.

This course is suitable for puppies aged 10 weeks to 18 weeks of age at the time of the first class.

Basic Training Course with Bruce Caplin, CPDT, JD

Join Bruce Caplin of The 10-Minute Dog for this course suitable for older pups and dogs that need basics such as: sit, down, stay, heel, leave it, etc. A lot of the focus of this class will be on canine communication and how to teach a dog using their methods of communication.

This course will be limited to 12 dogs and will be held in our main building.

This class is suitable for any non-aggressive (towards people or other dogs) dog over 5 months of age.
